When: July
Join us in a delightful journey as we explore National Deli Sandwich Month, an annual celebration that brings joy and tasty treats to seniors and their caregivers.
We’ll explore its history, discuss its significance for the elderly, and share exciting ways to participate in this fun-filled month.
History Of National Deli Sandwich Month
The concept of a sandwich dates back to ancient times, but the modern version we know and love was popularized by John Montague, the fourth Earl of Sandwich, in the 18th century.
National Deli Sandwich Month, however, seems to have emerged in the mid-20th century, likely as a promotional effort by food industry groups.
Celebrated in August, it’s a time to honor our affection for the humble yet versatile sandwich.
